MID-TERM ELECTION 2018
I think to me one of the most disheartening things about today's election results at least so far is the fact that so many Americans can still vote Republican with a straight face.
In the face of a POTUS who lies constantly and increasingly so, who distorts facts, who flouts the rule of law, who diminishes Jews and Blacks and Hispanics by his actions/rhetoric, who destabilizes American institutions and denigrates our very democratic form of government...is DESPICABLE.
YET, around 40% of Americans seem to think that that is just AOK as long as he delivers on what they want. Evangelicals cast aside Jesus and their so-called principles and beliefs for a taste of power. They ignore his treatment of women and minorities and ignore what he is doing to our governmet and it's long-standing tenets and fundamental principles JUST SO they can a judge or two appointed.
REPREHENSIBLE.
YET that is where we are.
Too many races across the country were WAY TOO CLOSE, and really good candidates appear to have lost to QUESTIONABLE Republicans...questionable in their adherence to the rule of law and a modicum of ethics and morality and integrity.
GOOD GOD.
