WELL, for the most part the 2018 election is over and now...we look toward the future.
There were some surprises and then again, some things were not surprising at all. It was exected that Democrats would retake the House of Representatives and it was also expected that the Republicans would retain control of the Senate. Some candidates expected to win did not and some expected to lose didn't.
Say goodbye to Heidi Heidtkamp, Claire McCaskill, Pete Sessions, Joe Donnelly. Say hello to a lot of new WOMEN Representatives from all over the country.
it remains to be seen how Democrats approach their new House majority...and while the temptation to GO FOR IT against Trump and the PUBS will be intense, to my mind they would be better served to not do so intensely Concentrating on the problems of the country and coming up with proper solutions while at the same time quietly gong after Trump on his egregious excesses would be more palatable to most Americans methinks and from a lot of the rhetoric I am hearing that seems to be generally accepted as the path forward. We need patches to the Affordable Care Act, boosts in education and job creation, and GOD KNOWS we need a massive infusion of resources to deal with our crumbling infrastructure.
It will be an interesting 2 years me also thinks. Time will tell...and let's hope by 2020 even the Republicans will have had enough of Trumpism and his lying corrupt ass.
